Welcome to Mormonism & the Mormon church
I’ve decided to create a blog about my religion — Mormonism. Mormonism is the branch of Christianity practiced by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That’s the official name of the church, but it’s of course called the Mormon church by a lot of people. On this blog I’ll write about what it was like growing up as a Mormon, what it was like being a Mormon missionary for two years, and why I’m still a Mormon and a Christian. I’m sure I’ll touch on various topics that are unique to Mormonism like the temple and celestial marriage. I’ll be glad to entertain questions if anyone has them. If I don’t know the answers I’ll try to help you find them, though I won’t pretend every question has an answer.
I look forward to having an outlet for my thoughts about my religion. It’s infinitely important to me, and I hope that will come across in my writing.

Rich, I’m looking forward to some posts on this. Did you take the photo in the header? I thin kkthat I’d like to head up that mountain and take that shot.
I didn’t take the picture myself — just found it with Google Image search. I really liked that one too.
This will be a great blog to read Richard.
Great idea, and am too looking forward to future posts.

Great idea. I have noticed that much of what is on the Internet and blogs about the church is false. Time to step it up for all of us bloggers out there.
I think your blog is a great idea, but don’t be surprised if people “bash” you. It seems to me that the misinformed people are the most likely to make fun of others’ beliefs. I’m LDS, too, and I hate it when people have misinterpretations about our religion. Good luck to you!
Alisha — I’m sure you’re right; I’ll be opening the door to at least a little bit of criticism and even ignorant bashing. But I hope the benefits of talking about Mormonism from our point of view will outweigh the detractions. Do you have a blog? You ought to start one!
[...] Along with my friend Richard Miller, I have also decided to start a blog about my religion, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (sometimes called Mormons or Mormonism). [...]
Fools mock, but they shall mourn. Let the critics come. Just stay the faith. I, too, have recently started a blog on the church, with my brother. I suppose the only reason we haven’t had critics is because we have not been noticed, yet.
